I know I am a few days late, but happy April! I have been taking the last few days to do nothing. I always feel guilty sleeping in late or just not being productive. It gives me a sense of anxiety when I don’t feel like I am doing something productive. But, I have been trying to tell myself its okay to relax/rest and that it doesn’t mean I am a lazy person. Does anyone else feel the same way about giving yourself time to do nothing? 

This period in our lives is a crazy time, with everything going on with COVID – 19, it can be a roller coaster of emotions. I am here to reiterate it is okay to feel stressed, anxious, loss, uneasiness, etc., but you also shouldn’t feel guilty if you feel alright. Everyone deals with things differently. Sometimes I feel okay, and then other times, I feel overwhelmed with anxiety. It’s all okay, and we are all in this together! Things changed very rapidly and, for most, unexpectedly. I hope you know you are in my thoughts and prayers as you try to navigate this time in your lives.

Another point I want to touch on is that it is OKAY not to have completed eight different projects already during the quarantine. Or, not to have baked a million new recipes or done five puzzles or read two self helps books or better your life in any way (lol)! I feel like now that we have to stay home and many of us may have more time on our hands than usual, and we feel this unspoken pressure that we have to accomplish something during this time, whether that be deep cleaning your entire house or starting up your next side hustle. Yes, this is a great time to work on ourselves, to clean/organize, start new hobbies, do more in general, but it’s okay, not too. It’s okay to slow down and take time for yourself. Maybe spending more time with your family or giving yourself a few extra hours of sleep should count as something accomplished too. 

We need to take this time and shape it to our expectations. Maybe a monthly goal setting is something you love to do. I know it’s something I love to do. So, let’s dive into our April intentions and goals. 

I am going to set three words to live by this month. Write your three words down and put them somewhere, so you see them every day. This is an excellent reminder for you and keeps them at the forefront of your mind throughout the month. It is great to have a mindful reminder, mainly because life is so hectic. These three words can be anything you want to achieve, work on, remember to do, etc.

My three intentions are:

Bloom: I want to bloom in many ways this month: self-love, confidence, spiritually, emotionally, and so on.

Devote: I want to devote time to reading and to learn new skills.

Willpower: Willpower is a superpower! I have a lot of health goals; I feel like I won’t reach without strengthening my willpower. 

My three goals are:

  1. I am going to bring this goal over from March. COOKING! I barely dipped my toes into this goal last month, and I think this is a great time to find some simple recipes I love and work on my skills in the kitchen! 
  2. I want to learn Adobe design software. This has been a goal of mine for months. I am finally going to stop talking about it and do something about it. 
  3. This goal is random, but I’d love to learn more about my zodiac sign and other zodiac signs in general. I think it is so exciting. I’d also like to figure out what my enneagram number is.
