Hey guys! I love posting my monthly intentions and goals each month. My “Monthly Goal” posts are one of my favorite blog posts to write. I have never explained why I love setting intentions and goals so much. As you may or may not know, I started my blog as a platform for wellness. Wellness in all forms – mind, body, and spirit. It is a place of ideas, inspiration, motivation, advice, food, quick workouts, etc. I want to make an impact on anyone who finds Jessie Girl blog or follows my Instagram account @jessiegirl_blog. I believe having monthly intentions and goals encompasses a form of wellness. I struggle with pretty severe anxiety, which has improved over the past few years through research, diet, exercise, mindfulness practices, and so on. My anxiety was apart of my inspiration for creating Jessie Girl and is one of the many reasons why I became so interested in overall wellness. 

I have a lot of big ideas and dreams swirling around in my head. I am continually thinking and pretty much I am always, always, always overthinking (ha-ha!). My overthinking became worse once I graduated from college because that change created a pretty big unknown for me. For the first time, I didn’t have a plan and didn’t feel ahead. I wish I would have started Jessie Girl years ago, but Jessie Girl launched the summer after I graduated. I was really struggling with the future and change. My anxiety had increased, and I felt lost. I felt like time was slipping by very quickly, and I wasn’t in control. I hate not feeling in control.

I decided to start these monthly intention and goal posts because I wanted to feel like I was working towards something. Four weeks can go by insanely fast. You can let those four weeks slip by, or you can use them to work towards something. You can work towards bettering your life in some way. I thrive off of structure, planners, to-do lists, etc., so having a goal with a deadline helps to ease my mind. It has helped me to be more understanding of the unknown, and that life isn’t always going to follow the perfect plan in your head, BUT you are in control of your attitude and your effort. You are the only one who can make your life better or change. 

I haven’t explained before what the difference between intentions and goals are in my “Monthly Goal” posts. Intentions are the three words you choose each month. They are usually things you want to work towards. This month I chose: capture, declutter, and fearlessness. Your three goals are different things you want to accomplish during the month or work towards achieving. I always say you don’t have to have mastered the goal by the end of the month but just have made progress! 

The company, Clear Connections Chiropractic, has reached out to me and asked me to be their featured speaker for their Expert Series event in January. They do an event each month. I will be speaking to their community about my Goal Setting Series on Monday, January 6. I am excited they have asked me to do this, and I hope to bring more people to the Jessie Girl community and help transform lives for the better! I genuinely think the monthly intention and goal setting is so valuable and life-changing.
