Happy July! Do you have any fun Fourth of July plans this weekend? The weather (at least in Michigan) looks like it’s going to be beautiful! I hope you have fun but are safe over the holiday weekend! 

I think we can all agree June flew by. I can’t believe it! Someone posted on Instagram something like it’s July, but I’m mentally still processing January, and I couldn’t agree more! It is scary to me how fast time is going by. This is a reminder never to take any day for granted. 

Honestly, I am feeling a little drained. I am struggling to look on the bright side of things today. It is okay to acknowledge our emotions. Every day is not going to be great, and with everything going on in the world, it seems extra hard some days. I do love a new month. I think this is the pick me up I need. It feels like a fresh start. Let’s reset and have an amazing 31 days! 

I am going to set three words to live by this month. Write your three words down and put them somewhere; you see them every day. This is an excellent reminder for you and keeps them at the forefront of your mind throughout the month. It is great to have a mindful reminder. These three words can be anything you want to achieve, work on, remember to do, etc.

Plan: I want to figure out a tentative plan in my head of what I want in my future. I know it might sound crazy because life is always throwing unexpected twists, but I just want a better understanding of what I want my life to look for myself. I need to do a deep dive and reflect on things I have been avoiding.

Strength: I want to work on my mental and physical strength. I want to be mentally tough and physically work out to become stronger. 

Obstacles: I would like to keep a level-headed approach to overcoming whatever this month throws at me. I want to have the mindset of “I will figure it out” at the forefront of my mind. 

My three goals this month are: 

  1. Learn. I feel like there is so much to learn, and the days go by so fast. I want to gain more knowledge on a variety of topics. On a podcast I heard, the host says, “I don’t know how anyone can ever say they are bored when there is so much to learn.” I felt guilty because, throughout quarantine, I would occasionally complain about boredom. Not anymore! 
  2. I want to start working on some fun projects I have dreamed up in my head. This month I am going to start making them come to life!
  3.  I will continue my healthy habits. I have been doing a four-week workout challenge that I want to complete and then do it again! I’ve been loving the results and have been eliminating foods that have been bothering my stomach (low FODMAP – see prior blog posts), so I feel like I’m on the right path! I haven’t been meditating lately, and I want to incorporate that into my life regularly. 

I think my goals are kind of random and abstract this month, but I think that reflects where my head is at right now and what is happening in my life.
