Well… it’s MAY! Last month threw me for a loop, but hey, it’s a new month, so therefore new goals, ambitions, challenges are coming for ya! We got this! We are stronger than we think we are. I know I am a few days late to posting the May goals post, but what better day than Cinco de Mayo!!! This is one of the best days of the year, in my humble opinion. 1. Tacos are my favorite food & 2. Who the heck doesn’t love a good strong margarita?! I need mine extra strong this Cinco de Mayo (lol)!
The theme of May for me is going to be dealing with unexpected change, overcoming challenges, and keeping a positive mindset.
Change is very hard for many of us. I think it is one of the most challenging things in life. I had a thought the other day about how we all dread change, but our lives are always moving and shifting. Ironic. My advice on change is to keep looking forward. Don’t look back. Everything happens for a reason (I live by this motto), and everything always seems to work out. I love the quote, “Everything will be okay in the end, and if it’s not okay, then it’s not the end.”
Overcoming a challenge takes perseverance and dedication. I think it is up to you to figure it out, but don’t be afraid to ask for help, don’t expect someone to figure it out for you.
I think keeping a positive mindset is the trickiest one, especially with quarantine and everything else going on in the world. I have been trying to take life one day at a time and not look too far into the future. One thing that helps me with a positive mindset is quotes. I love reading uplifting quotes, and that’s why I post so many on my blog Instagram account. It’s the best feeling when you find one that changes your perspective and relates to you! I like this one “ This season is asking more of you than you ever expected, but you are still free to take it day by day, and moment by moment, and allow your body and mind to rest when you need to.”
I am going to set three words to live by this month. Write your three words down and put them somewhere; you see them every day. This is an excellent reminder for you and keeps them at the forefront of your mind throughout the month. It is great to have a mindful reminder. These three words can be anything you want to achieve, work on, remember to do, etc.
My three intentions are:
Appreciate: I need to acknowledge all my blessings in life and not always look at the negative.
Centered: When I think of this word, I think of someone who is at peace and calm. That is what I want to be this month.
Eager: I want to be eager to accomplish my goals and dreams.
My three goals this month are:
- Meditate. I started meditating last week with an app that has guided practices. I feel like it helps with relieving stress and relaxing. I want to do a mediation once every day this month and make it a habit.
- I think a great way to feel good and have a calm mind is to stay active and eat healthily. So, my goal this month to keep doing at least 30 min of movement a day, whether that be a slow walk, run, yoga, HIIT workout, etc. I want to focus on cooking delicious healthy meals too!
- I have some goals in my head that I want to attempt to start working on this month, and I want to work on applying for jobs and what my next move is (in life)!
Now it’s your turn! What are your goals and intentions for this month?
Life throws a lot of curveballs, but let’s have a great May! 🙂 Also, I hope you have some guacamole and chips tonight! XO
