Pause. Take a deep breath. Before we dive into the month ahead, let’s take a moment to reflect on September.
Set your phone timer for five minutes and take a few for yourself.
Okay, now, let’s dive in with a fresh mindset to the month ahead!
Let’s do this: October
At the beginning of each month, I set three intentions and a word of the month. It brings a sense of focus, fresh energy, and purpose into the month ahead.
I carry my word of the month and intentions with me throughout October.
If you try this, I encourage you to write or type your intentions! Tape your word of the month somewhere you can see it daily.
Writing out your intentions offers more profound clarity, specificity, and commitment. When you articulate your goals in sentences, you force yourself to be more explicit about what you want to achieve, why it matters, and how you plan to get there. Seeing them visually and thinking about the month ahead and your personal goals adds an extra level of accountability.
Word of the Month
Setting a word to live by each month offers an excellent framework for personal development. By channeling our efforts toward embodying the chosen term, we can align our actions, decisions, and mindset with our desired growth areas. This deliberate focus encourages mindfulness, adaptability, and the formation of consistent habits, ultimately leading to heightened self-awareness, emotional well-being, and a more purposeful journey of continuous self-improvement.
My word of the month is unstoppable.

Intentions of the Month
The intentions are like the themes of your month. They are things you want to focus on for the days ahead. Monthly intention-setting propels continuous development and empowers us to control our lives proactively.
I spent more than half of September sick. My focus for October is my health. Every time I am sick, I feel the quote “health is wealth” truly to my core. My goals will mainly focus on my overall well-being this month.
- A greater focus on what I am putting into my body. Increased hydration, nourishing foods, supplements to help my immune system, etc.
- Sleep. Getting a good night’s rest and utilizing the weekends for recovery, not just as a time to have fun.
- Movement. My body has been through a lot this past month. I want to slowly work my way back into a consistent workout routine.
I encourage you to set a word of the month and intentions. Pay attention to how it impacts you. I hope you enjoy October! xo
